Good Bye my sweet KC

We are closing yet another chapter in our lives as pet parents. Our beautiful KC has suffered with arthritis for quite a long time. He was on medication giving him quality of life but at 18 1/2 it is time to let him go. He was a daddy's boy for sure and Jerry loved him. We have had him and his sweet sister Kitlyn since they were just days old. Kitlyn will be lonely and I fear her time is short too. She has kidney disease but is on medication and seems to be doing OK. The past 3 years have been hard. I was unemployed for 21/2 years and we lost our dog Tasha and 3 other kitties, Charley, Shasta and Sammy. It seems we have always had furry children in our home. It's going to be quiet, not sure if I'm 100% ready.

The early days with Bart, KC and Kitlyn
KC was a character, I had to always check the dryer. If there were warm clothes in there and the door was open he would be in there. We are going to miss this guy!

  3. I'm so sorry for your loss! We have two cats and a dog, and I know how they can be so much a part of a family. Our Minnie Mutt was over 16, and we had to let her go a little over a year ago. The dog we have now is Pipsqueak, but we call him Pip. My mother will be 97 next month and calls Pip Minnie. She doesn't even realize that Minnie left us over a year ago. Anyway, you take care.

  7. So sorry to hear this. We have had to put quite a few pets down over the years and it never is easy as they are truly family. The most recent was our beloved Tigger. There is a memorial to him on my blog.www.dragonsndragonflies.blogspot.com He too, was a daddy's boy. He sat with my DH everyday in his chair once he came home from work. We only have L'il Bit now and she misses him too and has now become daddy's girl and sits with him now.

  11. Sharon, I know how hard it is to lose your furry friend. I had Caycee for 19 years and still miss him even though we adopted two others. One can never replace another but it does help to have them around. Sending out hugs to you!

  14. I know how you feel. My dear 20 cat had to go to the vet a few years ago. He was just not doing well. It was a hard decision - was I keeping him around for me or him? He was one of the family and it was a very terrible time for all of us.
    My prayers are with you.

Thank you for sharing the great pics of your babies!

  15. 18 1/2 years how wonderful to have that. I had my cat longer than I had my son and I miss him everyday. They leave a paw print on your heart. They are our fur babies and it hurts when we have to let them go. Prayers for you and your family.
